FAQ:

How far in advance should we inquire for booking your services for our wedding?

As soon as possible. I can't tell you how many couples I turn away for popular dates. Usually couples meet with me somewhere between 6-12 months before their wedding, but sometimes up to 18 months in advance! Never hesitate to contact us though, because if we happened to have your date free a few months or weeks before your wedding, we'd be more than happy to work with you!

Do you provide engagement sessions?
Yes, an engagement session can be added to any package for $300 an hour, or if you are having a destination wedding and would just like an engagement session from me, it is $350 an hour.

Are you familiar with different traditions that will take place at our ceremony?
Probably! I have been shooting weddings for 8 years, and have seen a wide array of different wedding traditions throughout the years. If we haven't worked with your traditions before, we would be more than happy to learn more about them for your special day!

What would you consider your style of photography?
I would say that our style is "photojournalistic", but weddings call for a lot of different styles of photography. I like to think of weddings as a perfect blend of photojournalism, portraiture, still life, fashion, and food style photography.

What is the usual turnaround time to view our wedding images?
We guarantee within 3 weeks at the very latest, but your online gallery is usually up within a week of your wedding. I will always let you know how long I think it will take on your wedding day.

Do we really need to include a second shooter?
All my packages start with a second shooter included, they can be removed if you feel as though you do not need one for your day for a deduction off your package price.

Are you gay friendly?
Of course!

Do you have liability insurance?
Yep! It is required from most venues for us to have business insurance.

How many backup cameras do you have?
I personally have two camera bodies, and my second shooters have at least one.

What type of cameras do you use?
We use all of the latest and greatest Canon gear. For all your camera nerds out there, we shoot with all 5d MarkII cameras, with L-series lenses.

What is the turn around time for albums?
I require that if you order an album you pick out your images within six months. After that point it usually takes a week or two to design the album, and you will always get to view the album designs before they go out and make any changes that you would like to make to it.

Do you shoot black and white and color?
We shoot everything in color, and we convert them to black and white later on. We usually turn about 30% of the images black and white.

How many years have you been in business?
As of 2012, we will have been in business for four years. I have been shooting weddings for eight wedding seasons, and started Shane Godfrey Photography in 2008.

Do the images provided on DVD's have water marks on them?
Nope! They are all ready for you to print from in full high resolution.

How many pictures do you usually shoot, and how many do we receive?
We typically shoot somewhere between 2000-8000 images in a day. While that is a wide range, all weddings are different. The number of photos we shoot depends on the amount of guests, the length of the day, and the amount of action going on at the wedding. From that, we edit down to about 800-1500 images, again, depending on the length of the day.

How can my guests see the images?
At your event, I hand out a business card that has a link to your gallery with a password so all your guests can log in and see your pictures there. They can also order images, but that is not required to see them.

Can you provide video?
We do not have any built in packages, but if you are looking for all day coverage, I'd be more than happy to suggest some friends in the area who are highly skilled videographers.

How long will the bridal party, family, and Bride & Groom pictures take?
This depends on a few things: how many family photos you would like, and how long you would like to take for the bride bride and groom photos. I try to get all the family pictures done within 10-15 minutes, same with the bridal party, and same with the bride & groom photographs. If there is a lot of time for us to take more pictures, I would always suggest extending the amount of time on bride and groom photographs, as those tend to be everyone's favorite.

How and when can I get in contact with you?
You can always email or call me during most weekdays or weekends. I understand that most people work during the day, so don't hesitate to give me a call in the evening, I'll probably pick up! If not, I always respond to email and phone calls within 48 hours.

How do we hold the date for our wedding?
After meeting with me in person, or having a phone/skype meeting, I require a signed contract and $500 retainer [deposit] for your wedding date. The rest is due on or around your wedding day. The majority of my clients reside in New England, but we regularly work with clients remotely if they live outside of the area.

Are there any review sources we can read about your services?
Yep, click here to see what people are saying about me on wedding channel.
